What I learned from Daskalos
Thank you for sharing what you learned from Daskalos, and / or through his teachings!
Hello All!!
I have just started this blog with the wish it is shared with everyone who appreciates Daskalos and his research for Truth.
In the late 1980's my mother used to visit Daskalos frequently and I took the opportunity to visit him on 3 separate occasions while he presented his teachings to groups who had travelled far and wide to hear him speak.
My impression of him was that he was an incredible individual who had 'found it'. I didn't know what 'it' was at the time, and only many years after realised after much soul searching that it was 'the way this are' or 'The Truth'. The feeling I had in his presence was that he was extremely conscious, undemanding, and taught from a holistic viewpoint that required utmost respect, honesty and integrity.
I saw for the first time a person who was truly a 'giver', and by that I mean he was there to provide the most appropriate experience for the individual's needs. I could feel it, though not fully grasp its significance at the time.
There was compassion, humour, love and inspiration in this meeting.
I myself felt that my system, who I was at the time, was in too much disrupt that I would be partially ashamed to be in the room with him, and that I would be a disappointment to Daskalos himself. The power of the mind is an incredible thing! All I had to do as listen, ask, experience, and share with others, but this I would understand many years later at a more mature stage in life, and it still needs work!
I am honoured, and feel privileged to have seen Daskalos, experienced his presence and essence, and thank all the angels who have been doing an excellent (if demanding..) job of keeping me aware enough to understand and realise this.
For me, I find nothing more exciting than researching the truth, to enhance my experience in this lifetime. And I have been looking for reason and understanding of mankind ever since I can remember, that has taken me from working in construction, through engineering school, into chiropractic health care, the psychology of the mind from a Maslow basis, biological medicine and many more, and I am still at the top of the iceberg when it comes to the realisation of Truth.
I have one wish for this blog; that it is shared in honesty from a place of timeless appreciation, between individuals who want to share their experiences in order to enhance the lives of the chosen one, who will visit this blog.
I have chosen the name 'Lopeti', which is my name in Tongan. In 2008 I spent 8 months in delivering the sailing yacht 'Dulce Vida' from San Diego US, to Napier, NZ, with a forced delay of 4 months in the Kingdom of Tonga, whereby I experienced a society I have found most appreciates and accepts human nature.
